Fielding phone calls
11 months before our two year old son was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumour my husband had a tumour in his stomach. Each night I arrived home from hospital the phone wouldn't stop ringing with friends and family wondering how he was and offering support, which was great but repeating the same story ten times over was adding to the stress. When our son was diagnosed we decided to put a daily up date on our answer phone keeping family and friends up to date. Everyone thought this was a great idea and it allowed us to have some time to ourselves, knowing that the support was there.
