General hospital amenities
Strollers and Café Express open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.WH Smith open Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am-4pm. WRVS coffee bars open Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 12.30-4pm.
Dining room on lower ground floor (not for use by patients) is open Monday-Saturday 8am-8pm, closed 2.30-3.30pm.
The mailbox is in the main entrance of the hospital and there is a cash machine on the 1st floor. A beautician also visits the hospital and appointment can be arranged by calling 0793685225.
There is a post office and supermarket within walking distance of the hospital.

Train: The hospital is one mile from Lime street station where taxis are easily available.
Bus: Call Merseytravel on 0151 2367676 or visit www.merseytravel.gov.uk for timetables and information.
Coach: The National Express coach stop is less than one mile away.
Cars: The hospital is well signposted throughout the city. It is approximately three miles from the M62 (signposted).
Car Parking: The car park is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Charges of £2.50 for up to 4 hours and £5.50 for up to 24 hours apply. Exemptions for blue badge holders can be gained by contacting your social worker benefits advisor.

Ward 7Y (Haematology Ward) is located on the 7th floor (take lift and follow the signs). It is also a day ward. Telelephone: 0151 706 2279.

Patients and their families have use of a quiet room if they would like to have some privacy, though this room is shared by another ward as well.
There are telephones and televisions available to patients.
There is a fridge and microwave on the ward for patients to heat up their own food, but please check how much space there is in the fridge with the nurse before bringing in too much.

Parents may stay for a few nights on the ward, but long term accommodation is available in the Hillsborough Suite for £15 per night. Contact staff for details and your social worker if you are having financial difficulties paying for this service.
